Tinju

Tinju adalah olahraga dan seni bela diri yang menampilkan dua orang partisipan dengan berat yang serupa bertanding satu sama lain dengan menggunakan tinju mereka dalam rangkaian pertandingan berinterval satu atau tiga menit yang disebut "ronde". Baik dalam Olimpiade ataupun olahraga profesional, kedua petarung (disebut petinju) menghindari pukulan lawan mereka sambil berupaya mendaratkan pukulan mereka sendiri ke lawannya. Nilai diberikan untuk pukulan yang bersih dan mantap ke bagian depan pinggang ke atas yang sah dari lawan, dengan pukulan ke kepala dan dada mendapat nilai lebih. Petinju dengan nilai yang lebih tinggi setelah sejumlah ronde yang direncanakan akan dinyatakan sebagai pemenang. Kemenangan juga

Paralayang

Olahraga paralayang adalah salah satu cabang olahraga terbang bebas. Paralayang dapat diartikan sebagai sebuah parasut yang dapat diterbangkan dan dapat mengangkat badan penerbang. Parasut atau pesawat ini lepas landas dan mendarat menggunakan kaki penerbang.

Olahraga paralayang lepas landas dari sebuah lereng bukit atau gunung dengan memanfaatkan angin. Angin yang dipergunakan sebagai sumber daya angkat yang menyebabkan parasut ini melayang tinggi di angkasa terdiri dari dua macam yaitu, angin naik yang menabrak lereng (dynamic lift) dan angin naik yang disebabkan karena thermal (thermal lift). Dengan memanfaatkan kedua sumber itu maka penerbang dapat terbang sangat tinggi dan mencapai jarak yang jauh. Yang menarik adalah bahwa semua yang dilakukan itu tanpa menggunakan mesin, hanya semata-mata memanfaatkan angin. Peralatan paralayang sangat ringan, berat seluruh perlengkapannya (parasut, harness, parasut cadangan, helmet) sekitar 10 - 15 kg. 

Pencak Silat

Pencak silat atau silat adalah suatu seni bela diri tradisional yang berasal dari Nusantara. Seni bela diri ini secara luas dikenal di Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, dan Singapura, Filipina selatan, dan Thailand selatan sesuai dengan penyebaran suku bangsa Melayu Nusantara. Berkat peranan para pelatih asal Indonesia, kini Vietnam juga telah memiliki pesilat-pesilat yang tangguh. Induk organisasi pencak silat di Indonesia adalah Ikatan Pencak Silat Indonesia (IPSI). Organisasi yang mewadahi federasi-federasi pencak silat di berbagai negara adalah Persekutuan Pencak Silat Antara Bangsa (Persilat), yang dibentuk oleh Indonesia, Singapura, Malaysia dan Brunei Darussalam.

Pencak silat adalah olahraga bela diri yang memerlukan banyak konsentrasi. Ada pengaruh budaya Cina, agama Hindu, Budha, dan Islam dalam pencak silat. Biasanya setiap daerah di Indonesia mempunyai aliran pencak silat yang khas. Misalnya, daerah Jawa Barat terkenal dengan aliran Cimande dan Cikalong, di Jawa Tengah ada aliran Merpati Putih dan di Jawa Timur ada aliran Perisai Diri.

Bola Basket

Bola basket adalah olahraga bola berkelompok yang terdiri atas dua tim beranggotakan masing-masing lima orang yang saling bertanding mencetak poin dengan memasukkan bola ke dalam keranjang lawan. Bola basket sangat cocok untuk ditonton karena biasa dimainkan di ruang olahraga tertutup dan hanya memerlukan lapangan yang relatif kecil. Selain itu, bola basket mudah dipelajari karena bentuk bolanya yang besar, sehingga tidak menyulitkan pemain ketika memantulkan atau melempar bola tersebut. Bola basket adalah salah satu olahraga yang paling digemari oleh penduduk Amerika Serikat dan penduduk di belahan bumi lainnya, antara lain di Amerika Selatan, Eropa Selatan, Lithuania, dan juga di Indonesia. 

Dalam menangkap bola harus diperhatikan agar bola berada dalam penguasaan. Bola dijemput telapak tangan dengan jari-jari tangan terentang dan pergelangan tangan rileks. Saat bola masuk di antara kedua telapak tangan, jari tangan segera melekat ke bola dan ditarik ke belakang atau mengikuti arah datangnya bola. Menangkap bola (catching ball) terdiri dari dua macam cara yaitu menangkap bola di atas kepala dan menangkap bola di depan dada.

Bola Voli

Bola voli adalah olahraga permainan yang dimainkan oleh dua grup berlawanan. Masing-masing grup memiliki enam orang pemain. Terdapat pula variasi permainan bola voli pantai yang masing-masing grup hanya memiliki dua orang pemain. Olahraga Bola Voli dinaungi FIVB (Federation Internationale de Volleyball) sebagai induk organisasi internasional, sedangkan di Indonesia di naungi oleh PBVSI (Persatuan Bola Voli Seluruh Indonesia).

Sepak Bola

Sepak bola adalah permainan bola yang dimainkan oleh dua tim dengan masing-masing beranggotakan sebelas orang. Olahraga ini sangat terkenal dan dimainkan di 200 negara. Permainan sepak bola bertujuan untuk mencetak gol sebanyak-banyaknya dengan menggunakan bola kulit berukuran 27-28 inci. Lapangan yang digunakan dalam permainan ini memiliki lebar 50-100 yard dan panjang 100-300 yard. Gawang tempat mencetak gol terletak di bagian ujung lapangan dengan dibatasi jaring berukuran tinggi 8 kaki dan lebar 24 kaki.

Haid Tidak Teratur

Kedokteran mendefinisikan Oligomenore sebagai haid yang datang tidak teratur atau haid yang sedikit sekali. Tetapi para dokter mencoba mempersempit definisi tersebut, sehingga diagnosis oligomenore adalah wanita yang sebelumnya haid secara teratur sebelum mengalami masalah haid yang datang tidak teratur. Pada orang yang mengalami oligomenore, siklus menstruasi biasanya terjadi lebih panjang dari 35 hari, sehingga hanya mengalami haid 4-9 kali selama setahun.

Pada wanita yang baru memasuki usia reproduktif ataupun yang baru mengakhiri usia tersebut, sangat umum untuk mengalami haid yang tidak teratur. Hal ini normal & biasanya merupakan akibat dari koordinasi yang kurang sempurna dari hipotalamus, kelenjar pituari & indung telur. Ada juga beberapa wanita yang tanpa alasan tertentu mengalami siklus menstruasi setiap 2 bulan sekali, tetapi bagi mereka hal tersebut adalah normal & bukan karena suatu masalah kesehatan.

Waspadai Cacingan pada Anak

Apakah Cacingan Itu ?

Infeksi Cacing atau biasa disebut dengan penyakit cacingan termasuk dalam infeksi yang disebabkan oleh parasit. Parasit adalah mahluk kecil yang menyerang tubuh inangnya dengan cara menempelkan diri (baik di luar atau di dalam tubuh) dan mengambil nutrisi dari tubuh inangnya. Pada kasus cacingan, maka cacing tersebut bahkan dapat melemahkan tubuh inangnya dan menyebabkan gangguan kesehatan.

Cacingan biasanya terjadi karena kurangnya kesadaran akan kebersihan baik terhadap diri sendiri ataupun terhadap lingkungannya. Cacingan dapat menular melalui larva/telur yang tertelan & masuk ke dalam tubuh.

Cacing merupakan hewan tidak bertulang yang berbentuk lonjong & panjang yang berawal dari telur/larva hingga berubah menjadi bentuk cacing dewasa. Cacing dapat menginfeksi bagian tubuh manapun yang ditinggalinya seperti pada kulit, otot, paru-paru, ataupun usus/saluran pencernaan.

Apakah stroke itu ?

Penyakit stroke adalah gangguan fungsi otak akibat aliran darah ke otak mengalami gangguan (berkurang). Akibatnya, nutrisi dan oksigen yang dbutuhkan otak tidak terpenuhi dengan baik. Penyebab stroke ada 2 macam, yaitu adanya sumbatan di pembuluh darah (trombus), dan adanya pembuluh darah yang pecah.

Umumnya stroke diderita oleh orang tua, karena proses penuaan menyebabkan pembuluh darah mengeras dan menyempit (arteriosclerosis) dan adanya lemak yang menyumbat pembuluh darah (atherosclerosis). Tapi beberapa kasus terakhir menunjukkan peningkatan kasus stroke yang terjadi pada usia remaja dan usia produktif (15 - 40 tahun). Pada golongan ini, penyebab utama stroke adalah stress, penyalahgunaan narkoba, alkohol, faktor keturunan, dan gaya hidup yang tidak sehat.

Demam Berdarah atau Tifus?

Gejala penyakit demam berdarah atau DBD dan tifus memiliki beberapa kesamaan. Kedua penyakit ini ditandai dengan demam yang cukup tinggi sehingga mengganggu aktivitas penderitanya. Jika salah mengetahui jenis penyakit yang diderita bisa mengakibatkan kesalahan penanganan pada penderita, bahkan dapat menyebabkan kematian. Apa saja perbedaan antara penyakit demam berdarah dan tifus?

Penyebab

• Demam Berdarah

Demam berdarah disebabkan oleh virus Dengue, itulah sebabnya penyakit ini disebut juga dengan Demam Berdarah Dengue yang disingkat menjadi DBD. Ada 4 jenis virus Demam Berdarah, itulah sebabnya pada beberapa kasus penderita demam berdarah yang satu menunjukkan gejala yang berbeda dengan penderita Demam berdarah lainnya. Penyakit ini menular dari satu penderita ke penderita lainnya melalui nyamuk aedes aegypti. Nyamuk ini biasa menggigit pada siang hari. Nyamuk yang mengisap darah dari penderita DBD kemudian menggigit orang lain yang sehat membuat virus yang ada berpindah ke orang yang sehat dan akan menyebabkan orang tersebut menderita Demam Berdarah.

Bronkitis

DEFINISI

Bronkitis (Bronchitis; Inflammation - bronchi) adalah suatu peradangan pada bronkus (saluran udara ke paru-paru). Penyakit bronkitis biasanya bersifat ringan dan pada akhirnya akan sembuh sempurna. Tetapi pada penderita yang memiliki penyakit menahun (misalnya penyakit jantung atau penyakit paru-paru) dan pada usia lanjut, bronkitis bisa bersifat serius.

PENYEBAB
Penyebab Bronkitis infeksiosa adalah virus, bakteri dan (terutama) organisme yang menyerupai bakteri (Mycoplasma pneumoniae dan Chlamydia). Serangan bronkitis berulang bisa terjadi pada perokok dan penderita penyakit paru-paru dan saluran pernafasan menahun.

Lemak Kenapa Tidak???

Lemak dianggap sebagai musuh kesehatan. Kolesterol, obesitas atau tekanan darah tinggi merupakan efek buruk dari lemak. Tetapi, memang tidak mudah menghindarkan diri dari lemak. Makanan yang berlemak cenderung lebih nikmat untuk disantap. Dalam makanan, ada beberapa jenis lemak yang terkandung. Mulai dari lemak yang baik sampai lemak yang merugikan.

Lemak

Mendengar kata lemak, pikiran seseorang biasanya langsung teringat dengan tubuh yang gemuk atau penyakit. Hal seperti ini tidak sepenuhnya benar, karena lemak tetap dibutuhkan oleh tubuh. Lemak tetap memiliki manfaat bagi tubuh, terlebih bagi anak-anak yang aktif dan dalam masa pertumbuhan, lemak dibutuhkan juga dalam pembentukan sel dan membantu agar sel menadi lentur sehingga dapat menyerap nutrisi dengan baik. Dengan tercukupi nutrisinya, anak akan maksimal dalam tumbuh kembangnya. Konsumsi lemak yang dibutuhkan tubuh sebanyak 15%-30% dari makanan yang dikonsumsi.

Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo

DEFINISI

Benign Positional Vertigo (Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo), atau BPPV, adalah kekacauan biasa yang menyebabkan episode pendek resiko dalam merespon untuk merubah posisi kepala yang merangsang kanal semusirkular posterior dari telinga bagian dalam. Vertigo adalah sensasi pusing spesifik. Orang dengan vertigo merasa seolah-olah mereka, lingkungan mereka, atau keduanya sedang bergerak atau berputar.

Perubahan posisi kepala - biasanya membelokkan kepala di atas bantal sebelum bangun pagi hari, atau menengadah untuk mencapai rak tinggi sering memicu episode kekacauan ini. BPPV biasanya berkembang ketika partikel kalsium yang biasanya terlekat pada satu bagian telinga dalam (utricle dan saccule) tergusur dan pindah ke bagian telinga dalam lain (kanal semisirkular posterior). Telinga bagian dalam terdiri dari tiga kanal semisirkular, yang membantu keseimbangan. Kanal posterior, tidak seperti kanal anterior dan horisontal, adalah tempat terbaik untuk menerima hamper semua pelepasan partikel lewat gravitasi sepanjang malam. Sewaktu mereka berkumpul, mereka membentuk kotoran berkapur dan dan lebih lanjuta dapat membentuk masa yang melebih-lebihkan gerakan cairan pada kanal ketika kepala berganti posisi.

Aneurisma

DEFINISI

Aneurisma (Aneurysms) adalah suatu penonjolan (pelebaran, dilatasi) pada dinding suatu arteri, biasanya pada aorta. Penonjolan biasanya terjadi pada suatu daerah yang lemah pada dinding arteri. Aneurisma bisa terjadi di sepanjang aorta, tetapi 75% aneurisma muncul pada bagian aorta yang menuju ke perut. Aneurisma bisa berbentuk bulat (sakuler) atau seperti tabung (fusiformis). Sebagian besar berbentuk fusiformis.

PENYEBAB
Aneurisma aorta terutama merupakan akibat dari arteriosklerosis, yang menyebabkan lemahnya dinding aorta sehingga tekanan di dalam mendorong dinding menggembung keluar. Di dalam aneurisma sering terbentuk bekuan darah (trombus) dan bisa tersebar di sepanjang dinding aorta. Resiko anerurisma meningkat pada tekanan darah tinggi dan perokok sigaret.

Alergi Mata Merah

DEFINISI

Mata merah alergi adalah radang konjungtiva yang disebabkan oleh reaksi alergi.

Konjungtiva banyak sekali mengandung sel dari sistem kekebalan (mast sel) yang melepaskan senyawa kimia (mediator) dalam merespon terhadap berbagai rangsangan (seperti serbuk sari atau debu tungau) . Mediator ini menyebabkan radang pada mata, yang mungkin sebentar atau bertahan lama. Sekitar 20% dari orang memiliki tingkat mata merah alergi.

Mata merah alergi yang musiman dan mata merah alergi yang berkelanjutan adalah jenis yang paling sering dari reaksi alergi pada mata. Mata merah alergi yang musiman sering disebabkan oleh serbuk sari pohon atau rumput, oleh karenanya jenis ini timbul khususnya pada musim semi atau awala musim panas. Serbuk sari gulma bertanggung jawab pada gejala alergi mata merah pada musim panas dan awal musim gugur. Alergi mata merah yang berkelanjutan terjadi sepanjang tahun; paling sering disebabkan oleh tungau debu, bulu hewan, dan bulu unggas.

Ablasio Retina

DEFINISI

Ablasio Retina adalah terpisahnya/terlepasnya retina dari jaringan penyokong di bawahnya.

Jaringan saraf yang membentuk bagian peka cahaya pada retina membentuk suatu selaput tipis yang melekat erat pada jaringan penyokong di bawahnya. Jika kedua lapisan tersebut terpisah, maka retina tidak dapat berfungsi dan jika tidak kembali disatukan bisa terjadi kerusakan permanen.

Ablasio bisa bermula di suatu daerah yang kecil, tetapi jika tidak diobati, seluruh retina bisa terlepas. Pada salah satu bentuk ablasio, retina betul-betul mengalami robekan. Bentuk ablasio ini biasanya terjadi pada penderita miopia atau penderita yang telah menjalani operasi katark atau penderita cedera mata.

Pada ablasio lainnya, retina tidak robek tetapi terpisah dari jaringan di bawahnya. Pemisahan ini terjadi jika gerakan cairan di dalam bola mata menarik retina atau jika cairan yang terkumpul diantara retina dan jaringan di bawahnya mendorong retina.

Silkwarms

Silkworms live for only two or three days after laying eggs. About 36.000 to 50.000 eggs are laid, and these are carefully stored at the silkworm farm until they are ready to hatch. The eggs hatch into caterpillars, which feed on mulberry leaves. Soon the caterpillars are ready to spin their cocoons. Not all caterpillars can spin silk cocoons. Only the caterpillars of a silkworm moth known as ‘Bombyx mori’ can do such spinning.

This caterpillar has special glands which secrete liquid silk through its lower lip. The liquid produced later hardens to form fine strands. The caterpillar makes its cocoons using these strands. The threads on the outside of the cocoons are rough, while those inside are soft and smooth.Some fullys cocoons are heated. This kills the pupa inside. The cocoons are then put into hot water to loosen the fine threads. Finally, these threads are reeled off the cocoons.

How to Make a Paper Ship

1. Take a piece of rectangular paper and place it in front of you so the paper is in portrait format - with the longer edges to the side. Fold it in half lengthwise so the top meets the bottom - with the fold at the "top" of the piece of paper.
2. Fold in to half width and unfold - this marks your center line.
3. Fold the top right corner down so the top edge lines up with the center line.
4. Flip over. Repeat. This should create a "house" like shape with a "big" roofline and about an inch of paper below the triangle of the roof
5. Fold bottom edge up. Flip over the paper.

Snow White Story

A long time ago, a child was born to a queen and king and she was called Snow White.  When the queen died, the king married again.  This new queen was wicked and hated Snow white.  The queen gave orders that Snow White was to be treated as a servant.Snow White grew very beautiful and one day a Prince riding by, saw her at work and fell in love with her.

The Legend of Malin Kundang

An old woman and her son lived in a little village. Her son was called Malin Kundang. They were very poor but they loved each other very much.

One day Malin Kundang told his mother that he would go to town and work there. At first his mother did not allow him but finally she let him go with tears.Malin Kundang worked hard in a big town and in a short time he became a rich man. However he completely forgot his poor old mother. 

Some years later he sailed to a harbor near his village. When his mother heard about this news she came to meet him. Malin Kundang pretended not to know her. He said, “You are not my mother. Go away!” His mother became very sad and before she went she said, “Oh, Malin Kundang, you are a wicked son. You’ll never be safe now. You and your money will turn to stone.”

The Legend of Rawa Pening

Once upon a time, there was a little poor boy came into a little village. He was very hungry and weak. He knocked at every door and asked for some food, but nobody cared about him. Nobody wanted to help the little boy.

Finally, a generous woman helped him. She gave him shelter and a meal. When the boy wanted to leave, this old woman gave him a “lesung”, a big wooden mortar for pounding rice. She reminded him, “please remember, if there is a flood you must save yourself. Use this “lesung” as a boat”. The “lesung” was happy and thanked the old woman.

The little boy continued his journey. While he was passing through the village, he saw many people gathering on the field. The boy came closer and saw a stick stuck in the ground. People challenged each other to pull out that stick. Everybody tried, but nobody succeeded. “Can I try?” asked the little boy. The crowd laughed mockingly. The boy wanted to try his luck so he stepped forward and pulled out the stick. He could do it very easily. Everybody was dumbfounded.

The Real Story of Pinocchio

Once upon a time, Gepetto, an old woodsman, living in the great Italian pine forest, was lonely. He always dreamed about having a son.Each day, he went cutting woods for the town’s people. One day, an idea illuminated his mind, the idea of crafting a puppet, which he will call it Pinocchio. He crafted that puppet and during the night, the puppet becomes alive!

One year of happiness and thriller passed, on a Sunday morning, Gepetto told Pinocchio:
‘’It’s my birthday soon, my little son! I hope you didn’t forget it!’’
‘’Euh, sure, I didn’t!’’
Pinocchio felt awkward. He didn’t thought about that. Gepetto’s birthday was coming in only three days, and he hadn’t even a present.
After a long night of reflecting, Pinocchio finally decided to offer a homemade chocolate cake to him as a present.

Voyage of Sinbad

Formerly, in the Baghdad area, the Middle East, there is a young man named Sinbad who shouldered his heavy goods with wages slightly, so that his life is poor. One day, Sinbad resting at the doorsteps of wealthy merchants are very tired and hot. While resting, he sang the song.  Once, there was a beautiful Javanese princess whose name was Rara Jonggrang. Rara Jonggrang whose beauty was very famous in the land was the daughter of Prabu Baka, and evil king.

One day, a handsome young man with super natural power named Bandung Bondowoso defatted and killed Prabu Baka. On seeing Princess Rara Jonggrang’s beauty, Bandung Bondowoso fell in love wither and wantted to marry her.

Meanwhile, Princess Rara jonggrang felt sad due to her death father. She did not want to marry Bandung because he had killed her father. But she was also afraid of Bandung. So to refuse politely, she made a condition. "I will marry you but you have to build one thousand temples in one night as a wedding gift" requested Rara Jonggrang. Bandung Bondowoso agreed with the condition. Helped by the spirit of the demons, Bandung Bondowoso started building the temples. Approaching midnight, the work would nearly be done. Rara Jonggrang knew and thought, "What shall I do? Bandung Bondowoso is smarter than I. I would lose against Bandung."

The Legend of Bawang Merah Bawang Putih

Bawang Putih lived with her step mother and her step sister, Bawang Merah. Bawang Putih's mother died when she was a baby. Her father remarried another woman and later her step sister was born. Unfortunately, not long after that her father died. Since then, Bawang Putih's life was sad. Her step mother and her step sister treated Bawang Putih badly and always asked her to do all the household chores.

One morning, Bawang Putih was washing some clothes in a river. Accidentally, her mother's clothes were washed away by the river. She was really worried so she walked along the river side to find the clothes. Finally she met an old woman. She said that she kept the clothes and would give them back to Bawang Putih if she helped the old woman do the household chores. Bawang Putih helped her happily. After everything was finished, the old woman returned the clothes. She also gave Bawang Putih a gift. The old woman had two pumpkins, one pumpkin was small and the other one was big. Bawang Putih had to choose one.

King of The Jungle

One day a tiger saw a fox walking alone. Then, he intended to attack the fox. When Tiger jumped on Fox, Fox cried out, "How dare you attack the king of the jungle?" Tiger looked at him in amazement. "Nonsense! You are not King!" "Certainly I am," replied the Fox. "All the animals run from me in terror! If you want proof, come with me." Fox went into the forest with tiger in heels. When they came to a herd of deer, the deer saw Tiger behind the Fox and ran in all direction. They came to a group of monkey, the monkey saw the tiger behind fox and they fled. Fox looked to tiger and said, "Do you need more proof than that? See how the animals flee at the first sight of me?" "I am surprised, but I've seen it with my own eyes. Forgive me attacking you, Great King." Tiger bowed low with great ceremony, he let the fox go.

Visiting Bali

There were so many places to see in Bali that my friend decided to join the tours to see as much as possible. My friend stayed in Kuta on arrival. He spent the first three days swimming and surfing on Kuta beach. He visited some tour agents and selected two tours. The first one was to Singaraja, the second was to Ubud.

On the day of the tour, he was ready. My friend and his group drove on through mountains. Singaraja is a city of about 90 thousands people. It is a busy but quiet town. The street are lined with trees and there are many old Dutch houses. Then they returned very late in the evening to Kuta.

Vacation to London

Mr. Richard’s family was on vacation. They are Mr. and Mrs. Richard with two sons. They went to London. They saw their travel agent and booked their tickets. They went to the British Embassy to get visas to enter Britain. They had booked fourteen days tour. This includes travel and accommodation. They also included tours around London.

They boarded a large Boeing flight. The flight was nearly fourteen hours. On the plane the cabin crews were very friendly. They gave them news paper and magazine to read. They gave them food and drink. There was a film for their entertainment. They had a very pleasant flight. They slept part of the way.

On arrival at Heathrow Airport, they had to go to Customs and Immigration. The officers were pleasant. They checked the document carefully but their manners were very polite. Mr. Richard and his family collected their bags and went to London Welcome Desk. They arranged the transfer to a hotel.

Trip to Bandung

Last Month, My friends and I had a wonderful tip Bandung. We had three days trip there, from Friday To Sunday. We left to Bandung on Friday Afternoon and it only took about three and half an hour by car from Tangerang, our home town. We started at 2 P.M and arrived around 5.30 P.M in Bandung. As soon as we arrived in Bandung, we took a rest in a hotel downtown Bandung. After taking a rest dan a shower, we had dinner and prepared for a night tour in Bandung.

Around 7.30 P.M, we drove to Ciampelas to buy some jeans and t-shirts. After 2 hours shopping there, we dropped at Ciwalk for half an hour to relax and enjoy the beauty of Ciwalk. Our next destination is Ciwidey and Cimangu. It tokk about one and half an hour to be in Ciwidey and Cimangu. Unfortunately, we couldn't visit Ciwidey because of the bad weather and continued to Cimangu, around one kilometer from it. In Ciwidey, we had a warm water bathing. All of us jumped into the warn water and enjoyed  it a lot. Our body soaked in a big warm swimming pool for about an hour before we stopped. At 2 A.M on Saturday, we took a rest in of villager's house there near Ciwidey.

My Horrible Experience

Let me remind you my experience during an earthquake last week. When the earthquake happened, I was on my car. I was driving home from my vocation to Bali.

Suddenly my car lunched to one side, to the left. I thought I got flat tire. I did not know that it was an earthquake. I knew it was an earthquake when I saw some telephone and electricity poles falling down to the ground, like matchsticks.

Then I saw a lot of rocks tumbling across the road. I was trapped by the rock. Even I could not move my car at all. There were rocks everywhere. There was nothing I could do but left the car and walked along way to my house, in the town.

My First Experience to Ride Motorcycle

One day, when I was ten years old, my father bought an old motorcycle. That was " Honda Beat". I think it was small light object and easy to ride it. I persuaded my father to teach me to ride " Honda Beat ". Firstly, my father refused my request and promised that he would teach me two or three years later, but I still whimpered. Finally, my father surrendered and promised to teach me.

He began to teach me riding the motorcycle around a field in my village. My father was very patient to give me some directions. I was very happy when I realized my ability to ride a motorcycle. " Yes, I can ".

One day later, when I was alone at home, I intended to try my riding ability. So, myself tried bravely. All ran fluently in the beginning, but when I was going back to my home and I must passed through a narrow slippery street, I got nervous. I lost my control and I fell to the ditch.

My Adventure at Leang-Leang Cave

On Sunday, my parents, my best friend Sam and I visited a cave at Maros called Leang-leang . It was my first time to visit the cave, better yet, my best friend came to visit it with me!

The cave was famous for its primitive cave wall paintings which were some hand prints and wild boar paintings. The cave and its surroundings was turned into a national park, so it was taken care of. My parents took a rest in a small hut for visitors of the park, while Sam and I adventured around the cave with a guide. We had to climb some metal stairs to get to the cave, because the cave was embedded into a small mountain.

Next stop was a place where some seashells littered the ground and some were actually piled into a big mound! The guide said that these piles of seashells are called kjokkenmoddinger, or kitchen trash. The humans who lived here ate the shells and dumped the left overs in their ‘kitchen’.

An Unlucky Day

One morning I got up with the feeling that the day was going to be an unlucky one for me. How right it was! Found that it was already 06:15 a.m. I rushed into the bathroom. I did not see a piece of soap lying on the floor. I stepped on it and slipped, almost breaking my back in the process.

Then, I went into the dining room for my breakfast. I gulped down the tea without realizing that it was very hot. It burnt my tongue. I spat it out and could not eat anything because my tongue hurt. I got dressed and rushed to the bus stop.

Unfortunately, I just missed the bus. My heart sank and I knew that I would be late for school. When I reached school, my name was taken down by the teacher. The teacher scolded me for being late. To my humiliation, I was made to stand outside the class. I was so upset by the incidents that I could not study properly. But worse was to come.

Holiday to Yogyakarta

Orientation : Hi friends, let me introduce my self. My name is Nurul Farisah Zairina. I would story about my recount text “Go Holiday To Yogyakarta”. Two year’s ago, I and my family went holiday to Yogyakarta. I went to Yogyakarta on Monday. We went there by car.

Event 01 : Before went to Yogyakarta. First I was prepared something, for example : I was prepared some snack, soft drink,. I was very busy, because I was ironed clothes. I was very tired, but I was very happy.

Event 02 : On Monday, I would went to Yogyakarta. Before went to Yogyakarta. We gethered in my house. After that we arrived in car. I sat with my aunt. On the way, I was ate some snack, soft drink. After, I was satisfied and I was felt sleepy, tired. Then I was slept. After that I was got up and I was listened music. On the way very long, I saw some admire there. Admire there very beautiful. Before arrivedm we stopped in shop for bought ice cream, but I ate ice cream in car. After on the way very long, finish we arrived in Yogyakarta. I was very tired, but I was very happy.

Holiday to Bandung

I went to Bandung last holiday with my family. We went there by my car. I took long time to reach Bandung. It was about 2 hours and we had so many traffics in Bandung. As people could see, Bandung is almost same like Jakarta, but the differences are in it’s culture. Not only that, Bandung also had so many cold areas like Ciater etc. It was so wonderful in Bandung. I could release all my things at there.

After we arrived in Bandung city, we had a look in another place like ITB, UNPAD, TELKOM etc. Then we had a lunch in a small restaurant. After lunch, we continue our way to Ciater. Hopeless, it had a big traffic in the way to Ciater. So we stop in a café until evening. Then we continue our way. It was so dark and it was scary in the left or right side. Only trees that we could see because we were pick the way to the higher place. Finally we arrived in Ciater.

Holiday in the Jakarta City

Last holiday, I went to my brother's home in Jakarta city. I went to Jakarta city with my father. We went to Jakarta city by the train.  Jakarta city was very interesting, but the atmosphere was too hot for me.

A few days later, my brother and I went to the zoo in the Jakarta city. We went to the zoo by taxi. The zoo was very crowded. There were many traders. After bought the ticket, we went to see the animal in the zoo.

First, I saw many pelican birds. They were very hungry, so the zoo keeper feed the bird. Then I saw many deer eaten many hay. In the same cage I saw ostrich. It was very big. It can’t fly but can run very fast. Its stomach was very big too. After that, we went to take the boat that the skin like a goose. Before went to home, we bought some drink and food. We rested in a restroom. I was very happy at this holiday. I hoped the next holiday would be good too.

Lion

Lion is an animal from cat gen. Lion is a carnivore, so they usually eat meats. Lion has a strong body like tiger and a fur in their tails. Male lions and female lions are different. The difference is in their heads. The male lion have fur in their head and the female lion haven’t. The weight of male lion is about 225 kilograms and the weight of female lion is about 150 kilograms. They live in a forest or grassland.

Lion can be found in South Africa, Timor Timur and India. But because of the hunter want their fur, the habitats of lion dropped drastically. The lion are famous in South Africa especially in Savannah land. They are known as “King of Savannah” because of their bold and bravery. They owned the Savannah as their own land. Their numbers in Savannah are many too. They usually live in group. In that group, male lion is larger than the female lion because the male lion is the strongest lion and they are needed to protect the female and their cubs. The lion have their own territory. They always hunt in group. They hunt zebras, deers, and the other herbivore animal. They have their rival that they can said enemy. It was hyena. Hyenas live in group too, but they only act at night.

Fish

Fish are animals that live in water. Fish have fins that help them to swim. Most fish have slimy skins covered with scales which are very small and can hardly be seen.

Fish breathe through gills. These look like a comb and lie on each side of the head. Fish take in water all the time. The water flows in through the mouth, over the gills, and out through the sides of the head. When a fish takes in water, it is not drinking but breathing, and the gills absorb oxygen from the water.

The body of a fish is made up of the head, the trunk, and the tail fins. There are many different kinds of fish which have many different shapes an colors. Some fish are long and thin, while others are flat and rounded. Most fish have bodies which are broad at the trunk region and narrow towards the head and tail.

Dolphin

For many years, many people believed that the cleverest animals after man were the chimpanzees. Now, however, there is proof that dolphins may be even cleverer than these big apes.

Although a dolphin lives in the sea it is not a fish. It is a mammal. It is in many ways, therefore, like a human being.

Dolphins have a simple language. They are able to talk to one another. It may be possible for man to learn how to talk to dolphins. But this will not be easy because dolphins cannot hear the kind of sounds man can make. If man wants to talk to dolphins, therefore, he will have to make a third language which both he and the dolphins can understand.

Dolphins are also very friendly toward man. They often follow ships. There are many stories about dolphins guiding ships through difficult and dangerous water.

Butterfly

Butterflies have life cycle are egg, larva, pupa, and adult. butterflies come comprise are true butterflies the skippers and the moth butterflies, butterflies have body, appear of antennas, and beautiful wings. the wings of butterflies usually have many color like green,purple,blue,etc. the size of butterflies are small,medium, until large size we can find butterflies in the garden on the mountain or many more place that find flower because butterflies need essence of flower to eat. butterflies not consist in wild animal because butterflies cute,beautiful,and friendly. but sometimes conceited butterflies not become a rare animal because we usually find butterflies in the garden or just flying around our home. actually butterflies not a protected animals.

Blueberries

Blueberries, cranberries, and huckleberries-like dark skinned bunch grapes-contain restorative, a potential anticancer agent. That’s a new finding from preliminary data from ARS collaborative studies with Rutgers University-New Jersey and Ag Canada, Kent ville, Nova Scotti. Restorative protects dark-skinned bunch grapes from fungal diseases and provides health benefits to consumers, including protection from cardiovascular disease. The compound’s anticancer potential warranted its examination in other fruits.

Using gas chromatographic and mass spectrometric procedures, the scientists measured the restorative content of 30 whole fruit samples of blueberry, cranberry, huckleberry, and related plants representing 5 families and 10 species of Vaccination fruit. They found that several samples contained varying amounts of the compound. Analysis of extracts of the skin, juice/pulp, and seed of muscadine grapes showed that its concentration in fruit skin was highest. Levels in the juice/pulp were much lower than in either skin or seeds. Researchers are continuing to analyze more Vaccination and muscadine samples. Future research goals will include enhancing production of restorative in selected species.

Birds

Birds are interesting flying animals. They are vertebrates and warm blooded animals. They belong to aves class and they can be found all over the world.


Birds breath with their air pocket. Beside as respiration organ, air pocket also can enlarge or reduce their weight when flying or swimming.


There are many kinds of birds. Earth bird has special characteristic. They have different morphology according to their food and their habitat. Some of them eat seeds, pollen, fish or meat. There are some species that live in land and the others live in water. Land birds live on their nest.


Female birds have specific tasks. they lay eggs and feed their baby, Beside that they look for foods for their baby.
